Smithing stone made by polishing a golden Gravel Stone. A scale of the Ancient Dragonlord, and hidden treasure of Farum Azula.

Strengthens armaments up to +25.

The Ancient Dragonlord's seat is said to lie beyond time. This stone lightly twists time, allowing the creation of a weapon capable of slaying a god.

Acquisition

There is a limited number of Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones that can be acquired each playthrough. There's 13 in the base game and 9 in the Realm of Shadow, for a total of 22 per playthrough. However keep in mind, some are obtained through quests, and can be locked out from obtaining them.

13x found in the base game:

• 1x given by Nepheli Loux at the end of her questline.
• 1x can be purchased from Gostoc at the end of Nepheli's questline for 20000 runes.
• 1x given by Witch-Hunter Jerren for siding with him against Sellen at the end of her questline.
• 1x from Gurranq as a reward for finding all 9 Deathroot.
  • Also drops from Gurranq if he's killed at the Bestial Sanctum. Doesn't drop if it has already been given in exchange for Deathroots.
• 1x from a corpse inside the mouth of a giant skeleton, just south of the Church of Repose. A spiritspring nearby is needed to get it.
• 1x dropped by the Night's Cavalry duo miniboss guarding the caravan with the Flowing Curved Sword in the Consecrated Snowfield. They also drop the Night's Cavalry Set.
• 1x in the Yelough Anix Tunnel, on a corpse near the end of the level.
• 1x on a corpse by the icy waterfall behind Great Wyrm Theodorix
• 2x can be obtained from two separate Ancient Dragons in Crumbling Farum Azula.
• 1x can be looted from a corpse in Crumbling Farum Azula
• 1x from a chest in Miquella's Haligtree, after the fight with Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree.
• 1x Near the Haligtree Town Plaza grace, by a small plaza with a Misbegotten Warrior praying at a statue.

9x found in the Realm of Shadow:

• 1x looted upon completion of the Ruined Forge Lava Intake
• 1x dropped by the Magma Wyrm in Dragon's Pit
• 1x in a chest at the top of the Suppressing Pillar
• 1x looted upon completion of the Ruined Forge of Starfall Past
• 3x can be found in Taylew's Ruined Forge; two are found throughout the level, while one is found by interacting with the altar.
• 2x can be found in the Jagged Peak.
