Cane Sword is a straight sword found in ELDEN RING (2022).

Beloved sword of an aged knight whose last quest was long behind him, repurposed into a walking stick. The tip is rather worn.

Though bent of back and without the brawn required even to raise the sword aloft, still he wished to meet his end with weapon in hand.

Found next to the stairs just south of the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital.

Can still be found in Leyndell, Ashen Capital.

Notes Notes

  • The default skill is useful for breaking the guard of blocking enemies with the light attack version or for breaking their Stance with the heavy attack version.
  • The weakest of all Straight Swords in the game, and of below average length on top of that. Slightly stronger on Dexterity-leaning affinities such as Keen.
    • Despite this its Keen affinity actually gives it slightly weaker Dexterity-scaling for "bullet"-type (i.e. doesn't scale directly with the used weapon's damage) Skills with a Keen, Quality, Lightning, or Cold affinity, giving them usually about 2% less damage than they otherwise would have. This includes, as an example, the skills Beast's Roar, Storm Blade, Thunderbolt, and Hoarfrost Stomp (these skills however perform as normal on any affinity besides Keen).
  • Has the same unique sweeping heavy attack and rolling attack as the Broadsword, and as such lacks attacks that deal Pierce damage when used on its own, only having the dual-wield backstep attack for that.
    • The rolling attack does come out slightly quicker than the regular version.

  • Upgraded with regular Smithing Stones.
  • Can have its Affinity and Skill changed.
  • All non-physical Affinities lower all types of guarded damage negation by 5%, except for the associated element where the damage negation increases by 25% and another element also increases by 15%.
    • Magic negation receives the secondary 15% negation bonus on Sacred and Cold affinities, Fire negation gets the increase on Lightning affinity, Lightning negation gets the increase on Fire and Flame Art affinities, and Holy negation gets the increase on Magic affinity.
  • The upper number in the Atk column denotes Physical base damage while the lower, colored number in the Atk column denotes elemental base damage: red for Fire damage, yellow for Lightning damage, orange for Holy damage, and cyan for Magic damage.
