Death's Poker is a melee armament found in ELDEN RING ⁽²⁰²²⁾.

Barbed rod carried by Deathbirds.

The birds are graveyard fire keepers; it is said they rake out the ashen remains of the dead from their kilns.

Acquisition

Guaranteed drop: Caelid

• Dropped by the Death Rite Bird in Caelid, southeast of the Southern Aeonia Swamp Bank Site of Grace at night.
  • The high cliff to the east of the boss can be used to cheese it, as it's rather bad at scaling the rocks. Combined with anti-Those Who Live in Death equipment and ranged attacks will kill it quickly.
  • It's also possible to lure the Bird off the southern cliffs since some of its attack have it jump in various directions, especially if its first lure to the southern cliffs and then pulled to a large branch to the east to keep it from moving around too much.

Notes

• The innate skill, Ghostflame Ignition, is a strong, variable ranged or melee attack with considerable Frostbite build-up.
  • This skill is strong enough that the weapon can be primarily be used as a "staff" for it, being used for its exclusive "spell".
  • Unlike the weapon, it primarily scales with Intelligence (and weapon upgrade level) which provides something of a build conflict.
• Has a unique underhand-slash heavy attack, shared with the Sword of Milos.
  • The charged variant of this attack adds a short sprint before the attack. Note that this also means that it deals substantially less Stance damage than is usual, only 16.5 instead of the usual 33 (compare also with an uncharged heavy attacks 13.2 Stance damage).
• There is something of a conflict between the weapon's scaling and the skill's scaling, as the weapon scales best with Dexterity and quite well with Strength, but receives almost no benefit from Intelligence. Meanwhile, the only stat the skill scales with is Intelligence.
  • However, due to how weak the weapon's Intelligence-scaling is the skill receives only minimal benefits from it.

Upgrading

• Death's Poker is upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones.
• Death's Poker cannot have its affinities altered using Ashes of War or Whetblades.
