Dragonbolt of Florissax

Dragonbolt of Florissax is an incantation spell in Shadow of the Erdtree. It is one of the Dragon Cult incantations.

Description

Special incantation of the ancient dragon Florissax.

Calls down red lightning to bolster the caster and nearby allies. While enrobed with red lightning, all forms of damage negation (including physical) are increased. This also increases damage negation while guarding as an additional effect.

There was a time when the priestess never knew love, and thus never used this incantation herself.

Acquisition

Quest Item: Jagged Peak

• Given by the Dragon Communion Priestess at the Grand Altar of Dragon Communion after giving her Thiollier's Concoction at night and waiting for her to wake up (and then repeatedly talking to her), and then finally defeating Bayle the Dread.
  • This item is mutually exclusive with the Priestess Heart and Flowerstone Gavel.
  • Continue talking to her and both confess to be the one that put her to sleep and accept her into your service to receive the Ancient Dragon Florissax Spirit Ash.
  • Since this requires Thiollier's Concoction, make sure to get that item by giving him the Black Syrup from Moore at Belurat, Tower Settlement (obtained by speaking to both of them several times) and then giving the Syrup to Thiollier BEFORE defeating the Putrescent Knight or approaching Shadow Keep too closely.

Effect

Increases the Damage Negation by 10% (5% in PvP) for the user and allies within 7 meters, and also decreases damage taken when Guarding by 20%.

Counts as an Aura Buff and lasts for 70 seconds.

Notes

• Costs 20 points of Stamina to cast.
• Since this is an Aura Buff, it has to compete with the Golden Vow spell, which it compares rather unfavorably towards as that one grants a stronger Damage Negation bonus and a Damage bonus, and takes considerably less Faith to use.
• The reduction to damage taken through blocking is applied after the damage has already been reduced by the blocking equipment's own Blocking Damage Negation.
• Also used by Ancient Dragon Florissax, though a new Journey must be started to attain both on the same character.
  • Be wary that Florissax can overwrite a possibly more beneficial Aura Buff cast by someone else.
