Elden Ring Wiki talk:Editing Guidelines
Clarifying style/formatting guidelines
Not sure if this is the right place to bring this sort of thing up but I noticed a somewhat recent, very low quality (imo), and quite extensive edit made by one user (Darraider) to a large number of pages. practically all of the Ash of War pages, various skill and spell pages.
For Ash of War specifically, adding some manner of
- applies the skill X to any infusable weapon or shield that can do Y: Straight Swords, Light Greatswords
, Greatswords, Thrusting Swords, Heavy Thrusting Swords, Katanas, Great Katanas
, Twinblades, Spears, Great Spears, Halberds, and Thrusting Shields
or
- Compatible with the affinity Standard by default, and also Heavy, Keen, and Quality if the Iron Whetblade has been acquired, Fire and Flame Art if the Red-Hot Whetblade has been acquired, Lightning and Sacred if the Sanctified Whetblade has been acquired, Magic and Cold if the Glintstone Whetblade has been acquired, and Poison, Blood, and Occult if the Black Whetblade has been acquired.
to *all* of them
imo, it would be far better to include that information on the affinity pages themselves or if really nescarry on each individual AoW/skill/spell page, just inserted as it's own table in the infobox (ideally on some separate "advanced information" tab, kinda like how some NPC's will have overview/technical tabs.
not to completely shit on darraider, looking at all their edits i do think they mean well. but the AoW mass edits in particular lower overall quality of the wiki imo
