ER Custom Icon Description.png Description

Large piercing sword with a long, hard bladed edge which is also capable of slashing attacks.

For its large size, it can be wielded rather nimbly, leaving little opportunity for the enemy to counter.

Purchase: Murkwater Cave (Limgrave) / Liurnia of the Lakes / Volcano Manor (Mt. Gelmir)

Notes Notes

  • Has unique slashing heavy attacks and charged heavy attacks, a trait shared with the Noble's Estoc.
  • A decently long Thrusting Sword.
    • This and its moveset makes it a good offhand weapon for slower weapons, though the slightly longer Cleanrot Knight's Sword is a bit better.
  • Dexterity-leaning with its Affinities.
  • When using its Keen affinity it actually has slightly weaker Dexterity-scaling for "bullet"-type (i.e. doesn't scale directly with the used weapon's damage) Skills with a Keen, Quality, Lightning, or Cold affinity, giving them usually about 2% less damage than they otherwise would have. This includes, as an example, the skills Beast's Roar, Storm Blade, Thunderbolt, and Hoarfrost Stomp (these skills however perform as normal on any affinity besides Keen).
  • Generally the second strongest Thrusting Sword in terms of Attack Power, outmatched only by the Cleanrot Knight's Sword.

Trivia

  • Estoc is an Old French word, meaning "sword, its point", referring to the sword's sharpened tip compared to its blunt edges.
    • This type of sword is also known as a "tuck" in English.
