Fire Serpent is an incantation spell in Shadow of the Erdtree. It's one of the Messmer's Flame Incantations.

Incantation of the Fire Knights under Messmer the Impaler's personal command.

Launch a serpentine flame that bends and curls in pursuit of its foe. Charging enhances potency.

When the flame they received from Messmer would not find purchase within them, the Fire Knights relied on fire incantations to honor their bond.

Acquisition

Loot: Shadow Keep

• From the Storehouse, Back Section Site of Grace, head west to find a ladder on a banister and head up it. Head right at the top of the ladder and take the stairs to another floor and continue forwards until you reach a small balcony with a body holding this Incantation.

Effect

Creates a mote of flame that floats up in front of the caster before turning and flying towards a target, hitting with Fire Attack Power equal to 168% of Incantation Scaling.

If charged, Attack Power increases to 210% of Incantation Scaling.

Notes

• Attack Power is boosted by 15% by the Godfrey Icon if charged.
  • Since charging the spell already increases Attack Power by 21%, wearing this talisman increases Attack Power by a total 39%.
• Attack Power is boosted by 15% per Fire Knight's Seal held in an active hand (2 max).
• Attack Power is boosted by 3% when the Messmer's Helm is worn.
• Attack Power is boosted by 4% when the Fire Knight Armor is worn.
• Excellent tracking before it begins to move, able to launch even at targets that have managed to get between the caster and the flame. The tracking remains fairly good after launching.
• Has roughly 17% less Attack Power than Flame Sling with a similar casting time and the exact same FP cost. However, Flame Sling has no specific equipment that boosts only it, while Fire Serpent has several and stacking all of those means it will do roughly 1-3% more damage.
• The range is fairly mediocre. This, in combinations with the strong tracking, makes this more of a short to medium range spell.
