Frostbite (凍傷, Tōshō) is a status ailment in Elden Ring and ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN that inflicts a burst of damage and temporarily lowers all damage negation.

Mechanics

Similar to Blood Loss, Frostbite deals a combination of flat and percentual damage ((10% Max HP) + 30) when inflicted, in addition to slightly staggering them if the enemy is small, humanoid, or Tarnished. When inflicted on a boss, this damage combination is slightly lowered ((7% Max HP) + 30). Bosses also do not suffer from stagger unless they are Tarnished or a regular enemy made into a boss.

Additionally, Frostbite will lower all Damage Negation by -20% for 30 seconds.

Unique to Frostbite is the ability for the debuff to be immediately removed by any attack that deals Fire damage.

Frostbite can also be inflicted on someone in the middle of invincibility frames, such as a roll, though this only causes the stun and Damage Negation penalty, and not the damage.

Curing and Mitigation

Resistance to this status ailment is governed by Robustness.
