Golden Order Greatsword is a Legendary melee armament found in ELDEN RING ⁽²⁰²²⁾.

Description

Greatsword made of light, modeled after the Elden Ring itself. Forged by the King Consort Radagon to proudly symbolize the tenets of the Golden Order. One of the legendary armaments.

Telltale signs betray that this was once the greatsword bequeathed to him by his first wife, Rennala.

Acquisition

Guaranteed drop: Cave of the Forlorn ^{(Consecrated Snowfield)}

• Received upon defeating the Misbegotten Crusader at the end of the Cave of the Forlorn, located in the Consecrated Snowfield.

Notes

• The innate skill, Establish Order, slowly unleashes a point-blank explosion with the initial skill use, and then spins twice to unleash a Holy wave with the follow-up skill use.
  • As most of the damage of the follow-up use comes from the second swing it has some surprise potential due to the first swing being far more limited and normal.
• One problem with the weapon is that it's acquired at a point in the game where strongly Holy-resistant bosses are starting to become more common, which hurts its damage potential if using it to finish the game.
  • In Shadow of the Erdtree, enemies are generally far less resistant to Holy damage, making this less of a problem.
• While a pure Faith build would be expected to be strongest investment in terms of pure Attack Rating (AR) for this weapon, after Faith reaches 50 Dexterity will grant roughly equal AR until it also reaches 50.
  • The first option will grant stronger casting, more damage from the skill and potentially also higher melee damage if an enemy has lower or equal Holy defence to its Physical defence. The second option grants slightly quicker casting and potentially slightly better damage if an enemy has higher Holy defence than Physical defence.
• This is one of the few weapons that deal bonuse damage (20% more specifically) to Those Who Live in Death enemies, such as Skeletons and Death Rite Birds, and will also prevent the former from resurrecting without needing an extra hit to finish them off.

Upgrading

• This weapon is upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.
• This weapon cannot be buffed or infused.

Trivia

• Despite its description saying it is made of pure light it is actually of average weight among the Greatswords and is not one of the game's two weightless weapons, the Coded Sword and the Cipher Pata.
