Greatbow is a ranged weapon found in ELDEN RING ⁽²⁰²²⁾.

Description

Enormous greatbow larger than any man. Can not be drawn with any ordinary level of strength, but the force of its shots is extraordinary.

A greatbow can only fire great arrows.

Acquisition

Loot: Altus Plateau

• Found inside a chest on top of the Highway Lookout Tower in northern Altus, just on the border to the Capital Outskirts.

Drop: Altus Plateau / Deeproot Depths

• Has a 4% chance to drop from Greatbow-wielding Leyndell Knights, Haligtree Knights, Mausoleum Knights, and Redmane Knights (non-spectral only) found throughout the Lands Between and Greatbow-wielding Black Knights in the Realm of Shadow.
  • A single Greatbow-wielding Leyndell Knight can be found just east-northeast of the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace in Altus Plateau, guarded by two Leyndell Foot Soldiers.
  • The single living Redmane Knight with a Greatbow is found when approaching Fort Gael, up on a small cliff and guarded by Radahn Soldiers, Radahn Foot Soldiers, and a Flame Chariot.

Notes

• Since the Greatbow always needs to be two-handed to be used, the Strength requirement to wield it is effectively 14.
• Though the Strength- and Dexterity-scalings of this weapon are equal and this weapon gains the most Attack Power when focusing on both Attributes, since all other Greatbows except for the Erdtree Greatbow have stronger Strength-scaling the Greatbow fares comparatively much better on a Dexterity-focused build.
  • A Dexterity-focused build gives this weapon about 6% less Attack Power but since all other Greatbows suffer much more from the Strength-deficit the only other one that still has more Attack Power is the much heavier Golem Greatbow, which also requires 2 more points in Strength to wield and can't be infused.
• This is the only infusable Greatbow in the base game (the DLC added Igon's Greatbow as the second infusable Greatbow), making the Skill: Rain of Arrows unique to this weapon among the Greatbows.
  • There is admittedly the Unique Skill: Radahn's Rain on the Lion Greatbow, which costs more FP and deals slightly less damage per hit in exchange for a wider spread and hitting twice as many times.

• The Greatbow cannot be buffed by spells or consumables.
• The Greatbow can has its Ash of War changed, but not its Affinity.
