Incantation originating from the maddening Three Fingers.
Releases a maddening shriek that causes madness buildup in foes nearby. This incantation also causes madness buildup in the caster and makes enemies more likely to target them.
It is said that the sickness of the flame of frenzy began with Shabriri, the most reviled man in all history.
Howl of Shabriri is located in a treasure chest on the second floor of the Tower, located southeast of the Grand Lift of Dectus.
Effect
The caster covers their face as they yell in pain while the flames of frenzy fill their eyes. While screaming, all enemies within a 3.8 meter radius are hit up to 18 times with StandardAttack Power equal to 22% of Incantation Scaling and inflicted 35 Madness build-up per tick. The caster also takes 6 Madness build-up per tick (108 build-up in total). Afterwards, the caster is granted a Body Buff for 40 seconds where they deal 25% more damage but also take 30% more damage (50% more damage taken during cast of the spell) and draw enemy attention more than usual.
Aged One's Exultation: Boosts weapon and spell damage by 20% for 20 seconds when madness occurs nearby.
Black Dumpling: Boosts weapon and spell damage by 10% for 20 seconds when madness occurs nearby.
Madding Hand: Boosts weapon and spell damage by 7.5% for 20 seconds when madness occurs nearby.
The Roar Medallion increases the Attack Power of the AoE by 2%.
The Old Lord's Talisman extends the duration by 30%, from 40 seconds to 52 seconds.
The 35 Madness build-up per hit inflicted by the spell can scale with Arcane if cast using the Dragon Communion Seal, up to 51 build-up per hit with a +10 Seal at 99 Arcane.
With a +10 Seal: at 45 Arcane the build-up per hit will be 47, and at 80 Arcane the build-up per hit will be 50.
Strategies
The Howl of Shabriri is best used as a Body Buff before the start of a big fight, albeit a risky one since it also lowers the caster's Damage Negation by 30%. However, this can be slightly mitigated by using Golden Vow, which grants the caster a 10% damage reduction.
One strong reason to use it regardless of the fact that it'll make the caster take more damage is that it's the strongest non-discriminate, offensive Body Buff, especially so for Lightning and Magic Attacks as they have no specific, offensive Body Buff.
Ironically, Howl of Shabriri is arguably outclassed for Frenzied Flame Incantations by Flame, Grant Me Strength due to the latter's lack of a downside aside from a slightly shorter duration.
Madness does not effect PVE enemies unless said enemy is based on the Tarnished model, so it's often not very relevant there.
The Howl of Shabriri is quickest and the most cost-effective way to trigger madness on oneself. With low Focus, it usually only takes about two or three casts to self-inflict madness.
Very useful for killing invisible moving scarabs due to the attack-part of the skill lasting for roughly two seconds.
Trivia
Although Howl of Shabriri increases the player's attack power, the description makes no mention of it.
