Initial meeting
---
I've no interest in small talk.
My only concerns are the concerns of Count Ymir.
And you are not among them.
If spoken to again
Only, there is one thing I will say.
Count Ymir's kindness is a gift. Should you cross him,
you will sorely regret it.
If spoken to a final time
Be gone.
There is nothing more to say.
After ringing the bell in Finger Ruins of Rhea, and has been spoken to before
How did you...
Did Count Ymir reward you with that?
Hmm.
Then I see you have gained his trust.
And therefore, mine.
I am Jolán. The Night is yours now to wield.
If spoken to again
Count Ymir spoke of you.
That you had earned his trust.
Hmm.
Then you have earned mine, as well.
I am Jolán. The Night is yours now to wield.
If spoken to yet again
Don't get the wrong idea.
We are neither friends nor confidantes.
I am merely honouring Count Ymir's wishes.
If spoken to a final time
Enough of you.
After ringing the bell in Finger Ruins of Rhea, if not spoken to before
Well, well, what is that...
A reward from Count Ymir?
Huh...
If the Count has placed his trust in you, then so shall I.
I am Jolán. The Night is yours now to wield.
After completing Dheo, and has been spoken to before
I told you once.
I've no interest in companionship.
But I must admit.
Count Ymir did seem very pleased.
Perhaps an exception is in order.
After completing Dheo, if not spoken to before
Ahh, who have we here...?
Count Ymir seemed very pleased.
And for that, I express my gratitude.
I am Jolán. Loyal to Count Ymir.
The Night is yours now to wield.
Speaking again
Ymir is a shining star.
In our eyes, the only star upon the black canvas of the night.
Our meeting with the Count taught us of the star-draped sky.
We know that we cannot reach out to touch it.
But we can peer up at its brilliance, and heed its guidance.
We will never again lose our way in the night.
Speaking once more
I have spoken far too freely.
Pay me no mind. Let us focus on our shared purpose.
Our service to Count Ymir.
Speaking a final time
Now, be on your way.
If "I was attacked by a Swordhand of Night Underground" is selected
Stop.
What did you just say?
Hmmm.
Wait, no. Say nothing.
I have one star alone.
And only his words will do...
If spoken to again
I will say this much.
I am in your debt.
But I will hear no more.
I have one star alone.
And only his words will do...
If spoken to a final time
Be on your way.
I will hear no more about this.
During Jolán's invasion, randomly
You were warned.
Not to betray the kindness of Count Ymir.
Appalling. Your lot never ceases to repulse me.
Such willingness to exploit true largesse.
Surrender. To the Night of Jolán.
When Jolán invades, if the player hasn't spoken to her before
You would abscond with it.
The whole of Count Ymir's wisdom?
You undeserving little miscreant.
Surrender. To the Night of Jolán.
Upon player death, if the player has spoken to her before
Why...
Why did you cross Count Ymir?
Upon Jolán's defeat, if the player has spoken to her before
Oh, my dear star...
A fine mother...you will be...
Upon player death, if the player hasn't spoken to her before
You have only yourself to blame, base creature.
Upon Jolán's defeat, if the player hasn't spoken to her before
Count Ymir...
I, Jolán, am afraid that I...
Speaking after Ymir's death
Count Ymir...
The stars...the sky... I see them not...
Speaking again
The Night is ever-dark.
I need the stars... Give me light.
If given an Iris of Grace
Oh, it blinds...
As if our Night simply never was...
If given an Iris of Occultation
No light...anywhere at all...
This is the night I know. Our Night...

Jolán, Swordhand of Night is a character in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Overview
Jolán and her sister Anna were born in a cold, dark gaol, where they were raised, deprived of light, to be Swordhands of Night. Thus were they cultivated to become the most terrifying masters of their blades, though the burden of the deed left their hearts frail and pliant.[1]
She looks after Count Ymir and his concerns, and refers to him as her only star.
