Lamenter's Gaol 
is a dungeon on the Gravesite Plain in Charo's Hidden Grave.
Overview
A frozen gaol deep in Charo's Hidden Grave on the southern shore of the Gravesite Plain. Like other similar locations, the Lamenter's Gaol was a facility where the Hornsent sliced up their condemned and placed their remains into Living Jars to become "saints".[1] The prisoners in the gaol sustain themselves by consuming the frozen maggots that grow in the jars' innards.[2]
The Hornsent sealed the power of the Lamenter in this gaol out of fear for the "true bliss" caused by happy lamentation.[3] The bliss and "languid ease" of those who could no longer see was banished to the depths of the gaol.[4] A Stranded Soul in the gaol is found keeling over, begging for the noise of the lamentation to stop and saying they need no salvation.[5] The Lamenter is the boss of the dungeon.
Like the other gaols in the realm of shadow, the Lamenter's Gaol is populated by Jar Dwellers and Shadow Undead. The Lamenter's Gaol is a suitable location to stock up on frozen maggots, which are used to craft the Hefty Freezing Pot. Additionally, Innard Meat can be harvested from the Jar Dwellers; this tool can be thrown to weaponize its rancorous spirits.
