Lightning Spear

Lightning Spear is an incantation spell in ELDEN RING ⁽²⁰²²⁾. It is one of the Dragon Cult Incantations.

One of the incantations of the capital's ancient dragon cult.

Summons a lightning spear and hurls it before the caster. Charging causes a lightning bolt to strike the point of impact.

Long ago, Godwyn the Golden defeated the ancient dragon Fortissax, and befriended his fallen foe — an event that gave rise to the ancient dragon cult in the capital.

Acquisition

Purchase: Roundtable Hold / Liurnia of the Lakes / Altus Plateau / Leyndell, Royal Capital / Mountaintops of the Giants

• Sold for 6,000 Runes by Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows after giving either of them the Dragon Cult Prayerbook.
• Should the prayerbook be given to one of them and then have that instructor die before purchasing this Incantation, then the player can still purchase it from the Twin Maiden Husks for the same price, after giving them the respective tutor's Bell Bearing.
  • WARNING: Should both Corhyn and Miriel die before giving either of them the prayerbook then this incantation becomes unavailable for that character until a new Journey is started.

Effect

Creates a small, golden spear in hand to throw, with Lightning Attack Power equal to 234% of Incantation Scaling.

Charging the incantation increases the Attack Power to 293% of Incantation Scaling.

Notes

• Costs 18 FP per cast.
• Costs 28 Stamina per cast.
  • When charged, costs 36 Stamina per cast.
• Requires 1 Memory Slot to be equipped.
• Deals 5 Stance damage on hit. When charged, it deals 9 Stance damage.
• Damage is boosted by +15% by the Godfrey Icon if charged.
  • Since charging the spell already increases Attack Power by +25%, wearing this talisman increases the Attack Power by a total of 44%.
• Attack Power is boosted by +15% per Gravel Stone Seal held in an active hand (+32.25% if one is held in each hand).
• Attack Power is boosted by +2% per piece of the Death Knight Set that is being worn.
• Charging this incantation more than doubles the casting time. In fact, though Knight's Lightning Spear is a good bit slower when both are cast uncharged, if they are charged they take the same amount of time to cast.
• Non-player characters will not actively try to dodge the uncharged version of this incantation. This is especially useful when fighting against evasive foes such as Tarnished-type enemies, since they are otherwise near-perfect at dodging projectile attacks.
• If the incantation hits a watery surface or an enemy standing on such a surface, a small area of effect attack with Lightning Attack Power equal to 50% of Incantation Scaling will be created that can hit the target foe and any adjacent enemies.
  • Also deals 2 Stance damage regardless of if the original Lightning Spear was charged or not.
