The demesne of Limgrave, far south of the Erdtree, is bordered to the northwest by the cliffs of Stormveil, and under its ever-clouded skies roll the great steppes of the pale lands.
Limgrave is a region in the Lands Between.
A temperate land of green plains and golden trees, with windswept hills to the north and a dense, mist-shrouded woodland to the east. Limgrave is the first open area encountered by the player after emerging from the Stranded Graveyard, located in the southwest of the Lands Between. It borders Liurnia to its northwest and Caelid to its northeast. In the south of Limgrave lies the Weeping Peninsula, an isolated region known for its unceasing rain.
Godrick the Grafted presides over Limgrave from Stormveil Castle, located in the region's northwest at the top of Stormhill. Limgrave lies at the lowest elevation of all the overworld regions in the Lands Between, with accessible beaches on its western, southern, and eastern coasts. The center of Limgrave is home to Lake Agheel, a name it shares with its resident dragon. The lake is the source of Murkwater River, which flows northward through Highroad Cave and empties into the bay in the middle of the Lands Between.
Other notable locations in Limgrave include the Limgrave Colosseum, two Minor Erdtrees, Fort Haight, Castle Morne, and numerous churches, ruined towns, caves, catacombs, tunnels, evergaols, and shacks.
Before Godrick settled in Limgrave, Stormveil's old king of the stormhawks was revered by all others.[1] It is said that the "true storm" raged during this time, and fierce hawks such as Stormhawk Deenh could command the wind.[2] The storm was the warhawks' cradle.[3] The conquests of Godfrey, First Elden Lord put an end to the reign of storms. The Storm Lord fell at his hand alone.[4] The lord of the stormhawks was vanquished, and the hawks lost their home.[3]
When Godrick was driven out of Leyndell, he fled south to Limgrave and took refuge in Stormveil Castle to hide from General Radahn.[5][6] The soldiers of Godrick also hail from an army that fled from Leyndell.[7] The next rightful ruler of Limgrave, Kenneth Haight, was driven from his fort by a bloodcrazed Godrick Knight.[8] To the south, in the Weeping Peninsula, Godrick appointed Edgar as the warden of Castle Morne.[9] Godrick's army also employed sellsword mercenaries who patrol the roads of Limgrave on horseback.[10]
In the years following the Shattering, Limgrave deteriorated under the influence of numerous ailments. The wandering nobles, once in search of something now forgotten, shamble throughout the domain.[11] Some of the nobles in Lake Agheel have taken to praying that the dragon will incinerate them.[12] Godrick's soldiers have also lost their minds, now locked in unending conflict with Demi-Humans and Misbegotten.[13][14] Deathroot also emerged in northern Limgrave, where a Tibia Mariner has taken up residence in Summonwater Village. Evidence of Death has also presented in the Deathtouched Catacombs and is rumored to be the cause of Stormveil Castle's degradation.[15]
At Castle Morne, the Misbegotten servants have rebelled.[16] Castellan Edgar remained in the castle, but had his daughter Irina evacuated.[17] Although she made it out, all of her companions were slain by the rebelling servants.[18]
