Main-gauche is a dagger and melee armament found in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Intended to be used in the left hand, thereby complementing a piercing sword or identical blade held in the right to enable a distinctive style of fighting.

Found inside of Shadow Keep. From the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace, head up the western stairs and take a right after the first stair, then take a right again in the corridor to arrive in a small room with a Black Knight. The dagger can be found on a body in the left corner.

Notes Notes

  • Though this is a dagger it counts as a Thrusting Sword when dual-wielding, meaning that except for another copy of itself it cannot be dual-wielded with another dagger.
    • Uses the Thrusting Sword dual-wielding moveset if paired with itself.
    • Keep in mind that the second dual wield attack will only use the right-hand weapon, and hits 3 times.
    • Does more than a dagger usually would when dual-wielded, but not enough to truly compete with an actual Thrusting Sword.
  • Has a unique, thrusting heavy attack compared to the standard daggers moveset. This trait is shared with the Glintstone Kris, the Miséricorde, and the Scorpion's Stinger.
  • Compared to a Thrusting Sword with Parry equipped, this dagger will have the same amount of start-up frames and takes the same amount of time to complete but with twice as many active parry frames, with a slightly shorter recovery time to compensate.
    • Since only the Rapier and Rogier's Rapier have increased Critical Attack damage (130 and 110 respectively), having this weapon in the off-hand to another Thrusting Sword to then two-hand upon making an enemy vulnerable to a such an attack might increase such damage.

  • Upgraded with regular Smithing Stones.
  • Can have its Affinity and Skill changed.
  • All non-physical Affinities lower all types of guarded damage negation by 5%, except for the associated element where the damage negation increases by 25% and another element also increases by 15%.
    • Magic negation receives the secondary 15% negation bonus on Sacred and Cold affinities, Fire negation gets the increase on Lightning affinity, Lightning negation gets the increase on Fire and Flame Art affinities, and Holy negation gets the increase on Magic affinity.
  • The upper number in the Atk column denotes Physical base damage while the lower, colored number in the Atk column denotes elemental base damage: red for Fire damage, yellow for Lightning damage, orange for Holy damage, and cyan for Magic damage.
