Maliketh's Black Blade is a melee armament found in ELDEN RING ⁽²⁰²²⁾.

Description

Maliketh's black blade which once harbored the power of the Rune of Death. A sad shadow of its former glory.

After a fragment of Death was stolen on that fateful night, Maliketh bound the blade within his own flesh, such that none might ever rob Death again.

Acquisition

Trade: Roundtable Hold

• Trade the Remembrance of the Black Blade, gained by defeating the Maliketh, the Black Blade, with Finger Reader Enia.
  • Alternatively, use one of the Wandering Mausoleums to duplicate one (can only obtain one per playthrough using either method).

Notes

• The Unique Skill: Destined Death is very strong due to a combination of HP-based damage, reducing maximum HP briefly, having heavy Hyper Armor, and having surprisingly decent reach with the final parts, but is fairly slow
• Only the Skill applies the Destined Death effect.
• Of average length for a Colossal Sword.
• Leans slightly more towards Strength than Faith, though Faith scaling becomes stronger than Strength after the latter reaches 60.
  • A pure Strength-build has the highest Attack Power, followed by a split Strength/Faith build, and with a pure Faith build lagging a fair bit behind (and also requiring a fair amount of Strength to wield effectively).
    • Holy damage does have the benefit of being easier to increase than the Physical damage, thanks to the Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear and Sacred Scorpion Charm.
• Although its defences were increased with Patch 1.04 it's still on the lower end when it comes to Colossal Sword guard ratings.

Upgrading

• Upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.
• Cannot be buffed or infused.
