Churches are key locations in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN. They offer blessings which add additional charges to the player's Flask of Crimson Tears.
Once a church has enhanced a player's flask charges, then the map icon for that specific church will be replaced by a colorless variant for that player.
Number of Churches
By default, there are typically three churches that can be found during an expedition at a time, however it is possible for more to appear in specific circumstances.
For instance, it's possible for a church to serve as the starting camp of the session, where the players will begin the expedition near a church that has been infested with giant rats. Should this be the case, then that starting church will simply act as an addition to the default three-church count. Allowing the player to visit four different churches for flask upgrades in one session.
Shifting Earth: The Crater also features a guaranteed church, found near it's western walls. This church uniquely houses a common merchant and smithing table, and also serves as an addition to the base three-church count. Should the starting camp of a Crater expedition also feature a rat-infested church, then it's possible to get one's flasks enhanced by five different churches in one session.
Notes
- While Shifting Earth: Rotted Woods does feature the ruins of a church inside the forest, this church has no blessings to offer. And thus is understandably not marked on the map with an icon.
