Ironeye is one of the eight initial playable Nightfarers in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN.
Description
Ironeye
Assassin of the Fellowship. He is feared for his split-second judgment and the ability to spot even the most fleeting of chances to strike, earning him the moniker "Ironeye."
Boasts excellent dexterity, and wields control over any battle while firing from a distant range.
Preference: Bows
Overview
An archer with exceptional judgment and accuracy, Ironeye is a ranged combatant with a focus on bows, and is much more proficient at using them compared to the other Nightfarers. While his stats may be lower than other direct combatants, he makes up for it with the ability to apply pressure from a safe distance.
Unlike the base ELDEN RING, bows in this game have unlimited ammunition, can deliver critical hits, and are compatible with weapon buffs and greases. This alleviates a lot of the shortcomings of ranged combat and allows the Ironeye to continuously fight alongside his teammates. However, bows are offset with relatively low raw damage that takes increasing penalties the further the Ironeye is from his target, encouraging players to stay close to the action rather than try to snipe targets from afar.
Background
Abilities
Custom Bow Moveset
- Light attack chain with bows is a four-shot sequence, that fires faster than other characters with bows.
- Heavy attack fires three bows in a spread shot.
- If used in close range against a large enemy, all three arrows will hit.
- If there are enemies to the side of the main target, the spread shot has some slight tracking to help this attack hit all three arrows at once.
- Each arrow does 60% of the damage of a single light attack.
- Fully charge the heavy attack for 25% more damage. Tapping Dodge while charging lets the Ironeye perform a backstep while firing the attack.
- Greatbows, Crossbows, and Ballistas do not benefit from this moveset or faster firing speed.
- However, charging a heavy attack with the Lion Greatbow fires five arrows in a box-shaped spread.
Passive Ability: Eagle Eye
A keenly observant eye discovers more items to obtain from foes.[1] The effect of this ability also applies to allies.[2]
- Adds +30 to the hidden Discovery stat. This influences the likelihood of a boss reward of a higher rarity than normal, defeated enemies dropping their equipment for the team to use, and better items from chests or while looting corpses.
Skill: Marking
Cut foe with dagger, creating temporary weak point.[1] Inflict damage on temporary weak point to destroy it and stagger foes. Damaging weak point extends its duration.
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Using this skill causes Ironeye to dash towards his target, damaging any enemies he contacts with and applying the weak point to them. All marked targets have a red X on them. The Ironeye has invincibility frames during the dash duration.
- Holding a directional input can bend the path of this dash, or even cause the Ironeye to immediately back away once he has contacted his main target.
- The weak point lasts a base of 17.5 seconds, but can be extended if attacked.
- An enemy with an active weak point takes 10% more damage from all sources.
- As a marked enemy takes damage, the X darkens. If it takes enough damage in a short time frame the mark "explodes", causing the enemy to stagger out of its animations and doing a large amount of damage.
Ultimate Art: Single Shot
Fire powerful arrow that surpasses sound and ignores any defense.[1] Arrow pierces all types of enemies, terrains, and structures. Hold to draw bow and aim before firing.
- Fires a greatbow projectile that that bypasses guards, pierces through environments and obstacles, staggers enemies struck by it, and generates a cylindrical damaging area-of-effect around it.
- Can be charged. The Ironeye has invincibility frames while the Art is being charged, and can freely adjust his aim in the process. Charging the Art does not improve its damage.
- Can Revive any teammate with 2 or less bars in their Near-Death Gauge.

Chapter 1
Instructions sent from the Fellowship to the Ironeye:
Ironeye, beloved child of the Fellowship.
We have received word from Batear that you have fulfilled your duty. Your compensation is on its way.
Remain at your present location — a new, substantial task will soon be upon you, which will likely require journeying to the Lands Between. Details to follow.
Ever your custodian,
Isolde
P.S. Please forget what I said the other day, it was pure balderdash, spoken in frustration.
Chapter 2
Instructions sent from the Fellowship to the Ironeye:
Ironeye, beloved child of the Fellowship.
I am certain you are aware of the destruction of the boarding house in the Dusken Valley.
Root out the traitor and retire him. You can pick up his trail in the Lands Between.
Standard protocol applies — the Fellowship will not involve itself. Travelling expenses, intelligence and allies must all be procured as you work.
Ever your custodian,
Isolde
Chapter 3
A report written by the Ironeye, addressed to the Fellowship:
Isolde, my custodian,
I have no means to deliver this report, but I here shall I record my progress:
Following the traitor's trail has lead me to the Roundtable Hold.
I have made an ally who goes by the name of "Priestess." There have been scant clues to find, but such is the way in this field of work. The work itself proceeds as usual.
Ironeye
Chapter 4
Instructions sent from the Fellowship to the Ironeye:
Ironeye, beloved child of the Fellowship.
I believe you are familiar with "The Monster."
It is clear now that his guardian had been slain long ago. It seems to have happened when the boarding house was destroyed in the Dusken Valley. There is a strong likelihood that the traitor to the Fellowship is indeed the "Monster."
Take every precaution. He was raised by the Fellowship to be the centipedal scion he is, after all.
Ever your custodian,
Isolde
Chapter 5
A report written by the Ironeye, addressed to the Fellowship:
Isolde, my custodian,
I have picked up the trail of the traitor — the Monster. He is a brother of the Fellowship. The battle is sure to be drawn-out, but I shall prevail. I will send a report once the deed is done.
Ironeye
P.S. I found a sealed missive amongst my effects. In accordance with protocol, I shall open it, unless advised otherwise, Master.
Chapter 6
A bloodstained letter, addressed to the Ironeye:
The scions of the Fellowship are fated to be disposed of once they play their part. Thus I had a dream — to wrest the power of the Night and bend the rules which govern our realm.
The scions raised would wander through an endless Night, fighting on and on. A Night that would never break, for their sake, I desired.
But it is a dream most foolish. I should never have mentioned it to you. Free yourself of your misgivings, and walk the path in which you believe.
Ever your custodian,
Isolde
Chapter 7
A report written by the Ironeye, addressed to the Fellowship:
Isolde, my custodian,
I have no means to deliver this report, but I here shall I record my progress:
The traitor has been dealt with. All that remains is to face the Nightlord.
Ironeye
P.S. Fear not, Master — my mind is clear.
Chapter 8
A report written by the Ironeye, addressed to the Fellowship:
Isolde, my custodian,
You were the finest guardian one could hope for.
I desired freedom from the yoke of the Fellowship only because you showed me it was possible.
I have only gratitude for you, Master. For now, my Night shall never end.
Trivia
- In his gameplay trailer, Ironeye was revealed to have an American accent. He is the first such character in the Elden Ring universe.
- Two of Ironeye's garbs reference past material from the DARK SOULS series.
