The Night's Tide, also known as the Ring of Rain, is a game mechanic in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN.
Overview
The Night's Tide serves as a mechanic that constrains the Nightfarers' ability to explore Limveld and serves as a timer for the run. As the day progresses, the Night's Tide appears as a ring of blue flame that is hazardous to the Nightfarers. If a Nightfarer stays in the Night's Tide, their HP bar turns from red to violet as they take constant damage while in the rain. While the Nightfarer can extend their survival with healing flasks or by being near Sites of Grace, spending two consecutive minutes in the Night's Tide subjects the Nightfarer to severe damage-over-time that will kill them in a matter of seconds. The severity of the Night's Tide damage is reset whenever the Nightfarer escapes the rain.
During each day, the Night's Tide makes its first at the 4:30.00 mark, appearing as a giant blue ring on the map and gradually shrinking to the white circle over 3 minutes. At the 11:00.00 mark it begins shrinking again, portending the end of night, and progresses at a faster pace that funnels the Nightfarers to the night boss arena, denoted by the glowing white tree on the map and the player's compass.
To discourage exploration into the Night's Tide, any field bosses that are too deep into the Tide despawn, all evergaols within the Tide stay locked, and non-fixed NPCs will vanish. They will only become available when the run transitions from day 1 to day 2 as the Night's Tide recedes. After the Night 2 boss is defeated, the Night's Tide damage increases to the point where any player can only last mere seconds within it, and all Sites of Grace under the Night's Tide are rendered inaccessible. This coaxes players to move forward to the Spirit Shelter rather than remain in Limveld to farm Runes and loot.
