The Nightlord is the main antagonist of ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN. It appears as a powerful boss after surviving 2 days.

Overview

At the end of each expedition into Limveld, after surviving two nights, the Nightfarers challenge the manifestation of the Nightlord that they set out to hunt. The Nightlord has eight different manifestations, each of which serves as a unique boss fight. The Nightlord is found within the Spirit Shelter, a petrified Divine Tower accessible on the third day of each expedition.

The Nightfarers have been tasked with claiming the life of the Nightlord. Defeating its manifestations yields powerful Relics which can be used to permanently empower the Nightfarers.

It is the influence of the Nightlord that is responsible for the drawing in of enemies from other worlds.[1] These "ancestral foes" are "remnants of a fire that once burned bright."[2]

Damage Negations and Resistances Reference Table

  • Dreglord does not change damage negations or status resistances between phases, he only changes in status resistances after he screams at the sky. This attack occurs when he is below 55% & 20% HP and does not stack if he does it multiple times as this effect lasts until the end of the fight. He gains 2.15x bleed and frost resist as well as x3.96 the sleep resist after this scream. He loses 10 absorption for 30 seconds every time his body flinches in phase 1.
  • Animus, Ascendant Light in the Everdark Sentient Pest fight is immune to all status and has neutral absorptions when not inhabiting a host. It adopts the host's absorptions and status resistances when inhabiting a body.
  • At the start of phase 2 Animus will heal Gnoster and Faurtis for 8% hp + 100 + 4 times + 0.05% regen that triggers once every 1.5s for 5 seconds. Absorptions are * .35 for the whole revive duration. The subsequent revives when Animus inhabits a host will heal 40% hp + 400. Absorptions are * .25 until the host dies.

Notes

  • For the achievement A Champion's Path, any Nightlord can be defeated; not necessarily Heolstor.
  • The Nightlord may or may not be related to the Lord of Night awaited by the Nox.[3]
  • The individual day three bosses in Nightreign are each referred to as Nightlords; however, the objective of the game is also to come closer to defeating the Nightlord after successful expeditions. It is unknown if each boss is a physical manifestation of the same individual following the mechanism of a Silver Tear or otherwise.
