Revenant is one of the playable Nightfarers in the cooperative action game ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN.
Description
Revenant
Doll of the daughter of an aristocratic family that faced ruin. On a fateful night, her soul took possession of the doll's body, and she swore to avenge her disgraced lineage.
While steeped in faith, her other attributes develop at only a modest pace. Plays a supportive role in combat by summoning and manipulating spirits, which have the potential to overwhelm enemies.
Preference: None
Overview
A vengeful spirit of a lady possessing a doll. She manipulates spirits in her quest for revenge.
The Revenant is built around calling in additional allies and supporting them. Her low Vigor, Endurance, and physical stats mean she cannot fare very well in direct combat, so she has to compensate with calling in allies through her skills. She has a choice of three allies to summon through her character skill and can freely reposition, swap, or dismiss them. Additionally, any enemies she and her companions slay can be resurrected as temporary allies to help engage other enemies. Her best damage stat is her Faith, making her a competent Incantation caster provided she finds a sacred seal with the desired offensive incantation. While Faith-scaling weapons are somewhat uncommon, her default Cursed Claws do come with an S scaling in Faith and can serve well if no replacements are discovered.
As one brought back from death, she also can prevent and undo death. Her Ultimate Ability instantly revives any fallen allies in a wide area, and anyone currently living, including the Revenant herself, are temporarily protected from dying. Her Cursed Claws also are highly effective at reviving anyone near death.
With a more supportive skill set, proper coordination with the team is often needed to make the most of the Revenant's assets, but when done well she can quickly turn the tides of battle.
Unlocking
The Revenant is one of two Nightfarers not available at the start; the other is the Duchess.
To unlock the Revenant, the player must first have unlocked the Duchess, then purchased the Besmirched Frame from the Small Jar Bazaar for 1500 Murk. This causes a specter to appear, gazing at one of the portraits in the Roundtable Hold. Interacting with her starts the fight with the Revenant. Defeating her unlocks her as a playable character.
Abilities
Passive Ability: Necromancy
Raise enemy ghosts to fight as allies. Ghosts are summoned to fight, but are fleeting and dissipate after some time.
- The Revenant needs to have done damage to contribute to the enemy's death to trigger this ability. Any teammate can land the killing blow.
- This ability can reanimate any non-boss enemy.
- Non-boss enemies will follow the Revenant for 1 minute before disappearing.
Character Skill: Summon Spirit
Play lyre to summon fallen family to rally in battle. Choose to summon Helen the agile page, Frederick the burly cook, or Sebastian the doting butler.
- This skill has no cooldown.
- Helen shares behavior with a Page and delivers swift strikes. Frederick shares behavior with a Pumpkin Head and is more durable but slower. Sebastian shares behavior with a Giant Skeleton, and is toughest but immobile.
- The family member will be summoned in proximity to the Revenant's current locked-on target, be it enemy or fallen ally, and begin attacking or reviving the target. If the Revenant is not locked onto anything, the family member is summoned to her side.
- While the skill is readied, tapping to cancel will also dismiss the active family member (if any).
- Inactive family members will slowly regenerate health.
- If a family member falls in battle they will be unavailable until they have recovered half their maximum HP. Their HP bar will be dark blue while they are unavailable, turning pale blue once they can be called upon.
- In Deep of Night, Revenant's family gains bonuses to damage dealt and damage negations based on the current difficulty.
- Depth 1: +12.5% damage, +11% damage negations
- Depth 2: +20% damage, +19% damage negations
- Depth 3: +27.5% damage, +25% damage negations
- Depth 4: +50% damage, +42% damage negations
- Depth 5: +58% damage, +44% damage negations
Ultimate Art: Immortal March
Raise vengeful ire to make self and nearby allies immortal. Revives near-death allies, and transforms family into immortal warriors.
- For 15 seconds, the Revenant, all living allies, and the active family member cannot be killed. Any lethal damage brings them to 1 HP instead.
- Triggering the Ultimate Art will also cause all active family members, including those from allied Revenants, to perform a special attack.
- Helen will perform a rapid combo of thrusts.
- Frederic will perform a spinning attack.
- Sebastian will fire a laser.
- Any nearby near-death teammates will be immediately revived, regardless of amount of effort needed to revive them normally. However, they will not receive the immortality buff, and can be brought near-death again.

Journal
Chapter 1
Trying to escape from the encroachment of the Night, I awoke.
Checking my joints, I traced my way through clouded memories.
...But where was I? And why did the air smell of must and mold?
I needed to know what was going on. That is where I decided to begin.
Chapter 2
As I have fought alongside the others of the Roundtable Hold, some of the fog surrounding my memories has lifted.
I look in the mirror.
I remember my name is Daphne. Daughter of the prestigious House of Northerncroft, a family of master puppeteers.
But, then, upon the day of a fearsome storm, the Night swallowed the entirety of the family estate. It was on that day that I became the Revenant, taking on the figure of this doll.
Chapter 3
Though my form is that of a doll, yet do I dream.
Upon the night of the storm, nothing stirs within the estate, except for me, now inhabiting the unfamiliar body of a doll, aimlessly prowling the grounds. Then, something strokes my cheek.
It is ever at this point that the dream is cut short. I awaken and look in the mirror — so I can make sure of the sensations running through me.
"Are my dreams not enough, that you desire more?"
Black streaks have appeared upon my cheeks. It seems I am cherished by the Night indeed, to think it would still give chase, even in this doll's frame.
Chapter 4
In the mirror, I conceal the ways in which the Night eats away at me. As I apply the cosmetics given to me by the Iron Menial. I recall his words to me.
"Within your memories is a hole of not inconsequential size. It seems that the Night is using this toehold to take root."
The Recluse was the one who made this observation, but I know not how much she is worth my trust.
That aside, I cannot grow accustomed to applying makeup with my own hand. Back at home, someone would have done it for me.
The task finally complete, I caress the smoothness of my cheeks. Now I come to think of it, what was the name I gave this doll?
Chapter 5
I look into the mirror. The Night eats away at more and more.
"Pitiful..."
She was my darling baby, carved by my Grandfather. I called her by a name, but I don't know if I'll ever recall it now.
Instead I stroke her face.
I must find a way to purge my body of the Night that is nesting within. In that case, I believe the Priestess...
Chapter 6
Dolls too have their dreams. This I know.
The daughter of the house softly caresses my cheeks.
"Let's put on a little makeup, Daphne."
I always liked having my makeup done.
Chapter 7
I caress the cheeks of the face that looks back from the mirror.
These fingers have not the warmth, nor the softness I expect.
It seems I must face again what transpired upon that stormy night.
Chapter 8
I grasp the portrait and face the mirror.
The daughter of the house is no more. She will never caress my face again, no matter how I yearn.
I never was a human. And now, the mantle of doll no longer fits me.
There is but one thing that I must accomplish — the every reason I became the Revenant. To bring an end to the night of the storm.
