Towers in which sorcerers experimented with their spellcraft, their findings often encrypted by cipher. Very occasionally you may come across a tower in which a sorcerer from the distant past once resided. - Visual Codex > Guide > Map: Key Locations [3]

Sorcerer's Rise (also informally referred to as "Mage Towers" or "Wizard Towers") are key locations in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN that houses numerous Starlight Shards in it's lower floor and a Dormant Power in it's upper chamber.
The rewards offered by their dormant powers have a tendency to favor and support the use of sorceries.
The upper chamber is protected by a magic seal, which require the player find and break nearby magic crests that have been obscured with various types of illusions.
Puzzle Solutions
When approaching a rise, should the lower entrance archway be be blocked by a magic barrier then that means the crest is located outside the building. Should the lower entrance be open and the barrier being present only on the upper floors, then that means the crest is located inside the lower floor chamber.
Exterior crests
- False barrier - When the magic entrance barrier has no crest on it, then it can simply be walked through on both the lower and upper floor.
- Above entrance - Located visibly above the lower entrance archway. Can be easily destroyed with projectiles, but may also be reached by pure melee characters by having them jump and vault their way up the sides of the archway.
- Imp statue - Statue featuring Imps holding an open book by the entrance stairway. Attack, roll or jump into the statue to reveal the crest.
- Protrusion - Piece of construction made of notably more dingy materials compared to the rest of the rise's architecture, can be found on the left side wall of the rise when facing the entrance. Attack, roll or jump into the protrusion to reveal the crest.
- Rustling trees - Pair of trees experiencing noticeably stronger winds compared to others in the vicinity. The crest is found hidden in the bushes between them.
- Dead trees - A bunch of three dead trees found growing closely together located in the vicinity of the tower. Attack, roll or jump into the trees to reveal the crest.
- Pond - A crest that is only visible in water reflection. The pond that reveals its location can be found to the right of the tower when facing the entrance.
- Fleeing tree stump - The pale stump of a dead tree found roaming around the tower, will attempt to flee if it spots a player. Attack, roll or jump into the stump to reveal the crest.
Interior crests
- Unlit sconce - A notably unlit sconce found on the wall immediately to the left of the entrance archway. Attack or jump into the sconce to reveal the crest.
- Missing statue - A missing pillar in the back corner, right of the entrance. Attack, roll or jump into the wall to reveal the crest.

Old Sorcerer's Rise
Old Sorcerer's Rises are unique variants that may appear on rare occasions. They can be identified from normal rises by their unique map icon. Once an Old Sorcerer's Rise has been unlocked, it's Dormant Power will offer up to three possible rewards, all being ranked Rare or above.
These towers feature three different crests that must all be broken to unlock the seal, some of these crests are now rigged to be able to harm nearby players with a magic explosion when shattered.
While most of the crests featured are the same as the ones found on the normal towers, Old Rises also have a couple of unique crest locations that are exclusive to them, being the following:
Exterior crests
- Right side of the entrance - Can be found invisible on the wall to the right of the entrance archway, over the pond and above the foundational level of the building.
- Behind the rise - Located visibly on the wall of the foundation, at the backside of the tower.
Interior crests
- Second floor wall - Located visibly on the wall on the other side of the room with the second-floor exit.
