Weapon-Bequeathed Harmonia, also called Balancers, is a boss in Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows and one of the Nightlords[1].

Overview

A tiny farming village was besieged by bandits, who proceeded to ravage both its plots and people.

A young village girl, seeking help, dashed into the forest, where she prayed to the statue of a protective deity that held a weapon raised overhead.

By the end the village was steeped in red and settled in silence. The village girl, drenched in blood, stood with a vacant stare and a heroic weapon in her grip. [2]

Strategy

See the In Depth Boss Guide & Moveset Analysis by Chris Crass.

At the beginning of the fight seven Balancers will appear simultaneously. There are three discrete versions of the Balancers with unique movesets denoted by their equipped weapons: Spear, Halberd, and Hammer.

After all seven initial Balancers are defeated the last one to fall will be "crowned" and gain a new unique moveset, with some enhanced attacks based on their equipped weapon. As this phase transition is occurring all the defeated Balancers will be resurrected and they will execute a wide sweeping group attack, targeting one player.

From this point on, all Balancers can be fought and damage taken by any (standard or crowned) will be dealt to a shared health bar. Depleting this shared health bar will result in victory. At any point if the crowned Balancer is killed, regardless of how many standard Balancers are currently downed, a new crowned Balancer will be selected and the phase transition sequence will repeat.

The Balancers have a very low Sleep resistance and this can be exploited to limit the number of active enemy combatants. Care must be taken when applying sleep, especially with a weapon, as to not inadvertently strike the Balancer once sleep has been applied. Doing so will wake them immediately.

The Balancers are parryable, and are vulnerable to a riposte after a single parry.

Expedition Raid

The Balancers announce their invasion with a bright white light shining on the entire team from above. After a few seconds, the Nightfarers are enveloped by the light and split apart, distributed into one random point of interest scattered across the map.

These affected points of interest will have additional enemies that are tinted pink, which will fight both the Nightfarers and any surrounding existing enemy. All Nightfarers' flasks will be reduced by 3 while the raid is underway. The team must track down and eliminate each Balancer, which is accompanying the normal boss of the point of interest. Defeating each Balancer restores one missing flask charge to the entire team.

Once all three Balancers are defeated, the additional enemies they have summoned will disappear with them. The entire team also gains a blessing that can randomly revive them should they be brought near-death. Unlike the Noklateo blessing, this blessing triggers independently for each Nightfarer, and can trigger multiple times in the same battle if they are lucky.

  1. Technically in lore, they are not a Nightlord, however from a game play and mechanical standpoint they function identically to all other Nightlords
