Phantom Bloody Finger and Phantom Recusant Finger are consumable tools in ELDEN RING (2022).

Description

Item for online play.
Obtained after invading another world.
Consumed upon use.

Attempts another invasion of the most recently invaded world.
This may come in handy should separation from the Host of Fingers force a temporary retreat.

Acquisition

Automatically and temporarily acquired when invading another world.
Which Phantom Finger gets obtained depends on what invasion-item was being used to invade said world.

Effect

Using this item will make the player kneel down for a second before teleporting to a random spawn location somewhat close to the Host of Fingers' X & Z coordinates.
However it does not take the Y coordinates into account, leading to a high likelihood of the player spawning at the bottom of a steep cliff with the only way of approaching the host on foot being taking a long tour around whatever rocky mountain they might be positioned on.
It is still useful if the first spawn-point wasn't desirable, if the user is cornered and in dire need of escaping to some other potentially unseen location or if they've somehow pulled the host's co-operators away from them, allowing the invader to quickly get to the host while they're isolated from their friends. (How quickly you can teleport depends on the platform you're playing on, as the game is forced to enter a Loading Screen when using this item.)

Trivia

  • Despite the phantom fingers received from using the Bloody Finger and Festering Bloody Finger having the exact same name, they are technically different items with their own unique icons.
  • Despite technically being considered different items, their function and item descriptions are completely the same, including the Recusant version.
  • When there is an Overlevelled Co-operator in a world, the game will try to adjust their stats to improve balance; decreasing their survivability by lowering their HP, Stamina and FP, while reducing their damage-output by increasing the defenses of everything else against them specifically, this includes invaders.
However before Version 1.09 was released, there was a consistent bug that completely removed the invader's defense bonus against these co-operators (always after one of the phantom fingers had been used in that session), effectively giving the Overlevelled Co-operator all of their original, un-scaled damage-output back against the invader alone.
