Overview

The Recluses' River SOTE.png is a river in the Realm of Shadow. It is not a strictly outlined region in-game, but it is a colloquially referenced sub-section of the Scadu Altus that is not accessible from anywhere else in the area. The river is physically separated from the rest of the region by its low elevation.

The river originates in the Castle Watering Hole of Shadow Keep where the Ruins of Unte are found. A series of waterfalls then passes by the Village of Flies and the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum, running under Bonny Village and finally emptying into the Abyssal Woods.

To access the Recluses' River, one must enter a hidden room behind one of the waterfalls at the shipyard in Shadow Keep. Behind an illusory wall, there is a stone coffin that, when entered, flows down the stream into the Castle Watering Hole.

The Recluses' River is also the only way via which the Abyssal Woods can be accessed; near the terminal waterfall, the Darklight Catacombs can be found to provide a path into the forbidden forest.

There are three Sites of Grace located along the Recluses' River: Site of Grace Castle Watering Hole, Site of Grace Recluses' River Upstream, and Site of Grace Recluses' River Downstream. The latter two are found on a rocky, precipitous trail that follows the river's path south.

Notes

  • The namesake of the river is left up to interpretation. The eponymous recluses may be the Man-Flies that live in the canyon or another unknown party.
