One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Enchants shield held in the left hand with additional damage negation.
This sorcery can be cast while in motion. Taught to the Knights of the Cuckoo by the academy as payment for their contract.

Acquisition

Purchase: Limgrave / Liurnia of the Lakes / Academy of Raya Lucaria / Roundtable Hold

• Sold for 2,500 Runes by Sorceress Sellen in any of her locations other than Witchbane Ruins.
• Should Sellen die before purchasing this Sorcery from her, then the player can still purchase it from the Twin Maiden Husks for the same price, after giving them Sellen's Bell Bearing.

Effect

The caster holds both staff and shield close to their body. With their staff, they enchant their left-handed shield, boosting the shield's guard boost and damage negation. The entire shield is turned into a cyan color.

Notes

• Costs 30 FP per cast.
• Costs 22 Stamina per cast.
• Requires 1 Memory Slot to be equipped.
• Grants the left-hand weapon a Weapon Buff increasing Damage Negation against Magic Damage by 70%, while increasing Damage Negation against Fire, Lightning, and Holy by 30%
• Reduces stamina damage taken while blocking by 35% (applied after Guard Boost)
  • stacks multiplicatively with the Greatshield Talisman for a 48% reduction to stamina damage
• Unlike typical weapon enchantments, this spell can be cast on shields with any Affinity
• Lasts for 60 seconds.
  • With the Old Lord's Talisman, its duration is increased to 78 seconds.
• The Weapon Buff is removed if the caster unequips their left hand shield for any reason, or if a different Weapon Buff is applied.

Strategies

• Typically a good spell to have for those favoring Shields. The lowest amount of Intelligence a Starting Class has is 7 points, and with the Stargazer Heirloom, virtually every class is capable of casting this spell with 0 investment into Intelligence.
  • In addition, the spell is not affected by Sorcery Scaling whatsoever, so you get the full benefits of this spell regardless of how much Sorcery Scaling you have.
