Second-Generation Albinauric is an enemy in ELDEN RING (2022).

Overview

Second-generation Albinaurics are pale, pot-bellied creatures with frog-like faces and large, vacuous, black eyes. A creation by human hands, the circumstances of their birth has led many to believe they live impure lives untouched by the Erdtree's grace. Unlike the first generation, the second generation retains the use of their legs at the cost of their ability to speak. Their improved physique allows them to wield a greater variety of weapons, which they use to fight back against the formidable sorcerers that seek to slay them.[1]

Variant Description

Regular Albinaurics who freely roam Liurnia of the Lakes, often gathered around the ruins that dot the landscape.

Albinaurics blessed by grace, their once dim eyes now shining with a golden gift. They are capable of casting Discus of Light at foes, and are otherwise unremarkable from their regular variants.

Variant Description

Albinaurics tainted by Mohg, Lord of Blood's accursed blood. They roam the swamp surrounding Mohgwyn Palace, ready to defend their Lord from those who would seek to stop the birth of his Dynasty. Those that carry the Great Curved Clubs are able to beckon forth Giant Skeletons. Those that possess lighter weaponry are able to bristle sharpened needles of accursed blood from their bodies. Either cart-wheeling into intruders and shredding them to pieces, or painfully expelling them onto their immediate vicinity.

Strategy Guide Description

Elden Ring Official Strategy Guide Vol 2 - Shards of the Shattering
These frog-like humanoids are second-generation Albinaurics, and are sufficiently distinct from first generation Elder Albinaurics and Albinauric Archers to warrant separate classification, Enemies in this class are unusually diverse, with a wide array of weapons, special attacks, weaknesses and resistances. All variants are resistant to Fire damage, particularly the Blood variants encountered at the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum; their primary weakness is Holy damage, although they are also somewhat vulnerable to Lightning. All second-generation Albinaurics are immune to Poison and resistant to Scarlet Rot, but vulnerable to Blood Loss, while all but those residing in the Consecrated Snowfield are susceptible to Frostbite.

Albinauric (Curved Sword)

These Albinaurics wield heavy Curved Swords and may also carry a wood or metal Medium Shield. They are found mainly in the lowlands of Liurnia, where they patrol the lakes in groups with other Albinauric variants, They're capable of quick bursts of speed but are sedentary fighters otherwise, and those with shields are particularly vulnerable to Guard Breaks. Albinaurics with this loadout encountered in the Consecrated Snowfield can cast the Discus of Light Incantation, so keep an eye on them and be prepared to dodge even if you're out of reach of their melee attacks.

Albinauric (Club)

Club-wielding Albinaurics are somewhat more aggressive than those armed with Curved Swords, but their general combat behavior is similarly lethargic. Two-handed jumping attacks are particularly effective against them, especially with heavier weapons, but Dual-Wielding combos with armaments that cause Blood Loss will dispatch them quickly as well.

Albinauric (Curved Club)

Similar in behavior to those wielding ordinary clubs, this variant hits harder and tends to be a bit more aggressive than those wielding Curved Swords, but should otherwise be handled in the same manner. Note that in the Consecrated Snowfield, Albinaurics carrying this weapon are capable of casting the Discus of Light Incantation.

Albinauric (Ripple Blade)

Albinaurics carrying a Ripple Blade follow the same general behavior patterns as those with Curved Swords, and are also capable of an ice breath attack that causes Frostbite buildup. They may carry a wooden or metal Medium Shield, which provides them with little protection and effectively only leaves them vulnerable to Guard Breaks. They can drop their weapon, which has very powerful Arcane scaling and benefits more than nearly any other armament from consumable grease items that grant temporary status ailments to your melee attacks.

Albinauric (Halberd)

These Albinaurics wield (and can drop) a unique Halberd that significantly increases the range of their attacks compared to other variants. Jumping attacks are somewhat risky against them as their long reach nominally improves their anti-aerial capabilities; instead, move toward them until they swing at you, then roll forward past them and counterattack while they recover.

The standard blue-gray-skinned Albinaurics are the basic and most commonly found variant in the Albinauric species. Unlike the Blood and Snow variants found in Mohgwyn Palace and Consecrated Snowfield, these Albinaurics have no special abilities, and are only varied by the weapons and armor they wield.

While there's minimal difference between the normal and Snow Albinaurics, Blood variants can produce spikes of blood which they can either launch as projectiles or use to weaponize their bodies with a forward rolling attack.

Although rare, all variants of this enemy class can used a ranged spit attack, so don't let your guard down when just outside the reach of their melee abilities.

The Curved Sword and Curved Club Albinauric variants encountered in the Consecrated Snowfield will occasionally cast the Discus of Light Incantation.
