Acquisition Acquisition

Effect Effect

The user rears back and builds up power, then throws the weapon with a powerful spin that deals 175% of the weapon's Attack Power. This will also penetrate through enemies.

If performing without the sufficient FP FP or stat requirements, the throw will only deal 50% of the weapon's Attack Power. The weapon will no longer pierce through enemies.

Frame Data

Notes Notes

  • Costs FP 8 points of FP.
  • Costs Stamina 15 points of Stamina.
  • The throw deals Stamina 150% of the weapon's base Stamina damage against guarded enemies.
    • In PvP, the throw deals Stamina 187.5% of the weapon's base Stamina damage against guarded players.
  • The throw deals 150% of the weapon's base Stance damage.
    • Throwing Blades: The throw deals 3 points of Stance damage.
      • In PvP, the throw deals Poise 405% of the weapon's base Poise damage.
  • The throw inflicts 100% of the weapon's Status Effect build-up.
  • The throw has a Damage Level value of 2 (Moderate Stagger).
  • The Attack Power Physical Physical damage type is always Attack Power Pierce Pierce.
  • Though it goes through all enemies it will not ignore the damage reduction from an enemy that is keeping its guard up if they are guarding in the direction it's flying from.
  • Compared to a one-handed charged heavy attack with the Smithscript Dagger, Piercing Throw costs FP, has roughly 50% greater range, and is considerably faster, and also has greater Attack Power (175% vs 150%) but worse Stance damage (3 vs 6).
    • Compared to a one-handed regular heavy attack the disparity in Attack Power is greater (175% vs 120%) while Stance damage is closer (3 vs 4) in exchanged for being more similar in speed.
    • Two-handed charged heavy attacks are harder to compare with, as their total Attack Power is technically higher (175% vs 196%) but divided over two attacks with 98% Attack Power each (meaning they may suffer greater damage reduction from flat defence) and even higher Stance damage (3 vs 6.4).
  • Categorized as a Weapon-Throwing Attack.
