The Smithscript Shield is a melee armament found in ELDEN RING ⁽²⁰²²⁾.

Description

Roundshield engraved with a smithscript. A throwing weapon created through the smithing arts. Can be thrown by performing the armament's Skill.

Unique Skill: Discus Hurl

Throws the roundshield like a discus using the smithing arts. Once thrown, the shield will remain airbone for a moment before beginning a vertical rotation that chases down its target.

Acquisition

Loot: Taylew's Ruined Forge ^{(Rauh Base)}

• Found by running up the raised stone pillar and then jumping off to the right at the top. Go through the doorway and run up a ramp to the right to reach a platform with the shield, guarded by a greatpot-wielding Golem Smith and a falling Molten Tear.

Notes

• The unique skill effectively makes this shield into a quick and ranged off-hand weapon, more akin to a Crossbow than a Small Shield.
  • This is especially so for use against other players, due to the quick cast time and low FP cost.

Upgrading

• Upgraded with Smithing Stones.
• Cannot be infused.
