Spears are standard weapons for soldiers in the Lands Between.
They made it possible to respond to a ferocious foe with an equally ferocious counterattack.

Acquisition

Loot: Lakeside Crystal Cave ^{(Liurnia of the Lakes)}

• Located in a chest guarded by a pack of Demi-humans. The chest can be found in a campsite found by following the path into the cave without dropping down, past two braziers through a smaller cave in the back.

Effect

• Strengthens Counter Hits from Piercing attacks by +15% against enemies and other players.
  • Since counter-hits already have a +30% damage bonus (+15% in PvP) by default, this effects stacks with that pre-existing boost for a total damage bonus of +49.5% against enemies and +32.25% against other players.

Notes

• As with the regular Counter Hit damage bonus, this damage bonus is only applied if a target is attack in the middle of an attack animation.
• Note that the important bit is not that the attack made is a thrust, but that the damage it deals is Pierce damage.
  • This leads to some seemingly unexpected synergy with the Lucerne, Pickaxe, Rusted Anchor, and Warpick as all their attacks deal Pierce damage despite not looking the part.
• Skills such as Giant Hunt deal heavy Pierce damage, giving synergy with the Shard of Alexander and the like, and many weapons also reserve their Pierce damage for their heavy attacks, giving some combination potential with the Axe Talisman.

Spear-wielding Godrick Soldier

• This item's icon features a Godrick Soldier Helm (or Leyndell Soldier Helm) and an unknown Spear.
  • The head of the spear bears a mild resemblance to that of the DARK SOULS series's version of the Partisan.
  • The spear closely resembles the spear wielded by common soldier enemies, which is not obtainable in game.
