Description

One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

Creates a small, floating star light that illuminates surroundings. This sorcery can be cast while in motion.

Granted to sorcerers who depart from the academy to embark on journeys. Even during the blackest nights, sojourns underground, or imprisonment in gaol, the stars are never far from a sorcerer's side.

Acquisition

Purchase: Liurnia of the Lakes / Roundtable Hold

• Sold for 2,500 Runes by Sorcerer Thops at the Church of Irith.
• Should Thops die before purchasing this Sorcery from him, then the player can still purchase it from the Twin Maiden Husks for the same price, after giving them Thops's Bell Bearing.

Effect

The caster raises the staff to the air, and conjures a luminous orb that emits a strong cyan-colored light in its surroundings. The orb is fixed to above the caster, and will move with them until their time has expired.

Notes

• Costs 9 FP per cast.
• Costs 5 Stamina per cast.
• Requires 1 Memory Slot to be equipped.
• Creates a bright orb that lights up the caster's surroundings.
  • The strength of the brightness seems to be equivalent to that of raised Torches.
• Lasts for 180 seconds.
  • With the Old Lord's Talisman, its duration is increased to 234 seconds.

Strategies

• While the Lantern does not cost anything to use and lasts indefinitely, Starlight provides a stronger light while allowing the use of both hands.
