Sword of Milos is a melee armament found in ELDEN RING (2022).

ER Custom Icon Description.png Description

Sinister greatsword fashioned from a giant's backbone. The spines along each side of the blade have been tapered to a fine point and mete out wounds like a lopsided saw-blade.

Milos was undersized for a giant, and was viewed as sullied and terribly grotesque.

巨人の背骨から作られたという禍々しい大剣
左右の刺突起は、細く尖るよう削られており
不揃いのノコギリ刃のように、敵を傷つける

ミエロスは巨人としては矮小であり
酷く醜く、穢れていたという

Notes Notes

  • The innate skill, Shriek of Milos, is essentially a variant of the Skill: Barbaric Roar which decreases the Damage Negation of nearby enemies upon activation.
    • Note that since the roar is a Power Shred debuff it doesn't stack with most other non-Frostbite Damage Negation debuffs (see the skill's page for more details).
    • Note that unlike the Sword of Milos's normal heavy attacks these attacks have roughly the same Stance damage as other Greatsword's charged heavy attacks, at the cost of being significantly slower.
    • Though it's possible to have this sword to use the skill to debuff enemies, if its only used for that it's generally more practical to carry other debuffing equipment such as the Winged Greathorn instead due to their usage being easier.
  • Has a unique underhand-slash heavy attack, shared with the Death's Poker.
    • The charged variant of this attack adds a short sprint before the attack. Note that this also means that it deals substantially less Stance damage than is usual, only 16.5 instead of the usual 33 (compare also with an uncharged heavy attacks 13.2 Stance damage).
  • This weapon benefits most from a hybrid Strength-Dexterity build, followed shortly by a pure Dexterity build and then by a pure Strength build. This is without accounting for the minor bonus to Strength-scaling the skill's Weapon Buff grants.
    • Some scaling examples: with 45 Strength and 45 Dexterity it gains 649 AP when one-handed and 691 AP when two-handed, with 15 Strength and 80 Dexterity it gains 650 Attack Power (AP) when one-handed and 673 AP when two-handed, and with 80 Strength and 19 Dexterity it gains 612 AP when one-handed and 637 AP when two-handed.
  • Note that though this weapon as innate Blood Loss build-up, the amount is relatively low and as such will usually only be inflicted once per fight against an elite enemy or a boss.
  • When the sword is held in an active hand, gain 5 FP when any nearby creature dies.
    • This doesn't stack if two Swords are held.
    • As the killed creature doesn't have to be killed by the holder of the sword, or even be their enemy, having this sword is a boon to Invaders as they can simply retreat between combats and regain their FP by switching to this sword as the Host and Fingers kill regular enemies.
