The Sword of Night is a melee armament found in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Description

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇯🇵

Sword of an all-consuming, bottomless black that devours even the light that shines upon it. Wielded by Jolán, Swordhand of Night. The blade of the sword is only semicorporeal, and thus cannot be guarded against completely.

Acquisition

Quest Reward: Cathedral of Manus Metyr ^{(Scadu Altus)}

• Defeat Metyr, Mother of Fingers by following Count Ymir's questline and then defeat both him and Jolán, Swordhand of Night. Reload the area, and the player will find Jolán sitting on the ground against the pillar when she usually stands. Give her the Iris of Occultation and she'll drop the Sword of Night upon her death.

Notes

• The Sword of Night cannot be buffed by spells or any consumables.
• The Sword of Night cannot have its Ash of War or Affinity changed.
• All attacks from the Sword of Night bypass certain amounts of Damage Negation that are granted from guarding.
  • Light attacks will ignore 50%.
• The Sword of Night has the same heavy attacks as the Serpentbone Blade.
