Thrusting Swords are a type of melee armament in ELDEN RING (2022). They possess on average low weight, low stamina cost on attacking, quick attack speed and reasonable range at the cost of low damage against health, poise and the stamina of guarding opponents. Their subtle telegraphs at the start of most of their attack animations make it difficult for other players to react to, which turns them into excellent sidearms when dual-wielded alongside most other weapon types. Similar to Curved Swords their heavy attack charges can be canceled in favor of a quick feint-attack should the player press the Roll button while charging. They can also attack while guarding at the same time similar to Heavy Thrusting Swords and Spears.
Their two-handed moveset is generally very similar to their one-handed one, increasing overall damage to poise and health at the cost of the perks gained from being used alongside other weapons and shields.
Their dual-wielded moveset consists of flurries of several smaller, lower-damage attacks of varying numbers per button press, allowing one to inflict status ailments faster at the cost of committing to longer-lasting attack animations and delayed recovery from said attacks.
