Unique Skill: Regal Roar is a Unique Skill in ELDEN RING (2022). It is exclusive to the Axe of Godfrey.

Description Description

Let loose a mighty war cry, raising attack power, while sending out a shockwave that cannot be guarded against by stomping the ground. While active, strong attack becomes a lunging slash.

Innate skill of the Axe of Godfrey.

Effect Effects

The user raises the axe high and loosens a mighty war cry deals 0% of the weapon's Attack Power, but staggers opponents within range. Afterwards, the user strikes the earth with the end knob of the axe, sending out a shockwave that deals 210% of the weapon's Attack Power. This grants a 40 second Weapon Buff that increases the weapon's Physical Attack Power by 7.5%, adds 0.05 points to its Strength-scaling multiplier, and alters the heavy and charged attacks as follows:

The first heavy attack is a mighty stomp that is immediately followed by a wide horizontal slash, dealing 80%, then 100% of the weapon's Attack Power. The second heavy attack is an upwards strike that deals 165% of the weapon's Attack Power.

The first charged attack is an earth-shattering stomp that is followed by a hefty horizontal sweep, dealing 90%, then 110% of the weapon's Attack Power. The second charged attack is a scraping, launching strike that deals 190% of the weapon's Attack Power.

Striking the earth, and the stomp of the first heavy and charged attacks creates a shockwave that cannot be blocked whatsoever.

Has heavy Hyper Armor.

If performing without the sufficient FP FP or stat requirements, the war cry will no longer stagger opponents, and the shockwave is no longer present, but striking the earth with the end knob of the axe deals 120% of the weapon's Attack Power. The duration of the Weapon Buff is drastically decreased to 6 seconds. This will still alter the heavy and charged attacks, and the strength of these attacks are unchanged.

Boosting

Strategies

  • Very useful against guarding opponents, as the initial shockwave as well as the shockwave of the first heavy and charged attack completely ignore blocking.
  • In PvP, this is surprisingly useful as a roll-catch option. Not only does it come out surprisingly quickly, but slash can catch opponents who dodge the stomp.
  • The first heavy attack can combo into the left-handed attacks of certain fast weapons[1]

Trivia

  • Used by Godfrey, First Elden Lord when he reaches a certain health threshold.
    • He is capable of using the heavy attacks even before performing Regal Roar, although the stomps are not shockwaves, but small earthquakes similar to the stomping attacks of Crucible Knights.
