Watchdog's Greatsword is a melee armament in Elden Ring.

ER Custom Icon Description.png Description

Stone greatsword wielded by Erdtree Burial Watchdogs.

Though decorated with the watchman's eye, the pupil was taken by graverobbers and is now hollow, leaving this sword a mere lump of stone.

Drop: Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave (Mountaintops of the Giants) / Giants' Mountaintop Catacombs (Mountaintops of the Giants) / Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs (Consecrated Snowfield)

  • 8% drop chance from the non-boss variant of Erdtree Burial Watchdog.
    • Most easily farmed in the Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave, by heading out the southwestern exit from the Site of Grace and then jumping out one of the windows to the right. After killing the two shaded Imps next to the Erdtree seal the Watchdog can be easily lured over to de-shade it and then be killed.

Notes Notes

  • Has fairly good Attack Power, usually only trailing the Greatsword slightly.
  • Of middling length among its Weapon Class.
  • This is the only non-DLC, farmable infusable Colossal Sword.
  • Leans towards Strength for Cold and Blood/Poison affinities.
    • Despite having the highest damage and scaling on its Heavy affinity it actually gives slightly weaker Strength-scaling for "bullet"-type (i.e. doesn't scale directly with the used weapon's damage) Skills with a Heavy, Quality, or Fire affinity, giving them usually about 2% less damage than they otherwise would have. This includes, as an example, the skills Ground Slam, Vacuum Slice, and Flame of the Redmanes (these skills however perform as normal on any affinity besides Heavy).

Trivia

  • This is one of the weapons where the Affinity prefix gets placed in the middle of the weapon name (between "Watchdog's" and "Greatsword" in this case) instead of at the front.
